When staff members at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions arrived at their shelter in Las Vegas, Nevada, they were not expecting to find a heartbreaking surprise waiting outside their doors.
Sitting quietly on a bench near the entrance were two separate carriers. Inside were two cats who had been left behind after the shelter had already closed for the evening.
A handwritten note placed on top of one of the carriers revealed that the cats were not strangers. They were sisters who had spent their entire lives together.
