Not every cat is born with the odds stacked in their favour, but that never stopped this little fighter.
Meet Frankie, full name Frankenkitten. He’s not your everyday feline.
Born with four ears and only one eye, Frankie’s story is anything but ordinary.
But instead of letting his differences define him, this unique cat has managed to charm his way into a forever home and win hearts all over the internet.
Frankie was first found underneath a suburban house, abandoned alongside one of his siblings.
It’s believed there may have been more kittens, but sadly only two were found alive.
The homeowners who discovered them stepped in immediately.
They took care of the tiny brothers for a few weeks, feeding them up and giving them some much-needed socialisation.
Once they were strong enough, both kittens were brought to a local animal shelter where the real work began.
But it was clear from the start that Frankie was going to need a bit more attention than most.
Alongside his four ears, which give him a permanently wide-eyed look of surprise, Frankie also had a severe overbite that made his face appear extra angular.
This condition required major dental treatment.
As if that wasn’t enough, one of his eyes was seriously damaged and needed to be removed to save his life.
The shelter quickly arranged the surgery, and thanks to their quick response, Frankie made it through.
The infection in his eye could have turned septic, but the removal gave him a fighting chance.
That’s where Georgi came in.
Georgi was working at the animal shelter when Frankie arrived.
Because he needed time to recover from his operation, the staff were looking for someone to foster him temporarily.
Georgi volunteered, but it only took a few hours of having him at home to realise there was something special about this kitten.
“It wasn’t just how he looked,” Georgi explained.
“It was the way he acted. He explored the space so confidently and came to me for comfort without hesitation. There was a calmness about him, like he just trusted me from the start.”
It wasn’t long before Georgi decided that Frankie wasn’t going anywhere.
What started as a temporary arrangement quickly turned into a permanent bond.
Frankie’s physical challenges didn’t end with his surgery.
His back legs are a little misaligned, which gives him a quirky walk. His overbite also makes eating tricky.
Wet food, in particular, is hard for him to manage. But Frankie’s no quitter, he’s figured out how to scoop up dry food using his tongue rather than relying on his teeth.
It’s a slow process, but he gets there, one crunchy kibble at a time.
And despite everything he’s been through, Frankie lives his life with surprising energy and affection.
He spends his days lounging in warm spots around the house, curling up in Georgi’s lap.
Otherwise, he’s sprinting through the hallway when a burst of playfulness kicks in.
He’s even got a few furry siblings to keep him company including a dog who’s taken quite a liking to him.
According to Georgi, Frankie has a cheeky side, but it’s wrapped in so much sweetness that it’s impossible to stay mad at him.
“He’s incredibly affectionate. He always seems to know when I’ve had a rough day.
He’ll come sit next to me or nudge my hand until I give him attention. He’s like a little emotional radar.”
Georgi even describes Frankie’s personality as “doglike” in some ways.
He’s sociable, loyal, and always wants to be close to his human.
And when you hear about his journey from abandoned kitten to internet-famous rescue with a loving home, it’s not hard to see why he’s captured so many hearts.
Frankie didn’t get the easiest start in life.
But thanks to the kindness of strangers and the love of someone who saw beyond his unusual appearance, he now has the one thing every pet deserves: a place to call home.
He might only have one eye and an unusual way of walking, but Frankie proves that being different doesn’t make you any less lovable.
